About the Artist
Se young Park is an artist/designer based in Edgewater, NJ. He holds a bachelor’s degree in furniture with concentration in CTC (Computer, Technology, and Culture) from RISD. His work currently focuses on reconstructing the relationship between objects and people by applying unconventional perspectives and uses to everyday objects and their forms.

Artist Statement
“Uncanny is in reality nothing new or alien, but something which is familiar and old- established in the mind and which has become alienated from it only through the process of repression.” SIGMUND FREUD The discomfort experienced during childhood tends to become more familiar as we age. Professor Mori, the pioneer of the uncanny valley theory, suggested that technological advancements may expedite this process and eventually eliminate it. The concept of the uncanny valley might become a unique experience for those living in our time. This eerie sensation is most potent when it pertains to a life form. The challenge lies in envisioning how the uncanny valley theory can be applied to the relationship between objects rather than living beings.
